POW WOW

Written by Danny Jumpertz

POWWOW is the name of an innovative series of ten separate custom packaged CD releases that will bring outstanding original music to light, over the course of twelve months from July 2007. The POWWOW new music series has been created by Feral Media to celebrate outstanding innovative music of all genres.

Each POWWOW release in the series of ten will be a cohesive, single artist mini-album of around 30 minutes in length. The beautiful packaging design has been created by Sopp Collective. POWWOW releases will also be simultaneously available through iTunes.

POWWOW is a collaborative artist project; recording artists have the chance to create world-class music and feed it to a hungry audience. Artists collaborate and perform together, cross-promote, build the identity of the POWWOW artists' collective and also contribute bonus packaging inserts, different in each release in the series.

POWWOW live events: Beginning 5 July 2007 on the first Thursday of the month at the Sound Lounge, Seymour Theatre Centre, Corner of City Rd and Cleveland St, Chippendale (Sydney) NSW. First gig features Adelaide duo School Of Two, Melbourne’s Barrage and Sydney’s Underlapper.

POWWOW One: School Of Two FM40
Adelaide-based Jason Sweeney (Pretty Boy Crossover) and Harry Whizkid met on Myspace and began collaborating straight away. Their electronic pop has echoes of New Order and Khonnor - a fuzzy pulse and sweet atmosphere of melodic melancholy. 7 amazing debut tracks. Available July 2006.
