No the bird doesn't have a name, but wouldn't it be fun to make one up!

I painted the owl and then collaged into it for the feathers and background.
i like to make work that looks tactile and hand made, but a huge percentage of my process is actually working into an image on the computer. I find most digital art a little tacky because it dates really quickly and also for lack of smudges and mistakes sometimes looks a little soulless (cliched and flakey word, but you know what i mean). I like to use it in a way that isn't so obvious, or at least that's what i try to do. The owls face is actually made up of two different drawings and one painting, and elements of each have been blended together digitally. Some of the collaging is hand glued and some collaged digitally.

It was shown last year at the Art Gallery Of NSW, the Kelly Saunders album will be released in Australia later this year. Its recorded on the Broken Stone Records Label and the label who will be distributing it in Australia will be finalised later in the year.
